Back from the Sandblaster

Come da programma ho appena ritirato i pezzi dal sabbiatore al quale ho fatto applicare già il fondo bicomponente ai fosfati di zinco che a sorpresa è risultato in un elegante colore avorio.
Tre quarti del telaio sono letteralmente nuovi mentre il retro (dall'attacco del serbatoio in giù) sarà tutto da riprendere....nuovi buchi sono saltati fuori grazie alla sabbiatura oltre ai tanti rattoppi alla meno peggio fatti negli anni e che dovrò assolutamente togliere e rifinire al meglio.
Prima però proseguirò con il lavoro sui ponti applicando il fondo sui pezzi rimasti e poi in seguito una bella mano di nero su tutto per riconsegnare i differenziali al meccanico.

As planned I just collect the pieces from the sandblaster who applied the primer two-component zinc phosphate that surprisingly has resulted in an elegant ivory color.
75% of the chassis is really new while the back (from the attack of the tank down) will all be shot .... new holes are show due to the blasting well as many patches does by the years and I'll absolutely take off and finish at best.
First, however, I will continue with the work on axles using the remaining pieces with primer and then later on a nice coat of black so I'll give back to the mechanical differentials.

Febbraio mese di pulizie

Continua la preparazione dei ponti con la pulizia di ogni singolo elemento fino all'ultimo bullone per cercare di mantenere la misurazione in pollici.....nulla è lasciato al caso ed anche le parti più nascoste vengono amorevolmente sgrassate.
Ieri mattina è stata la volta dei mozzi:

Come promesso ho consegnato il telaio ed altri pezzi al sabbiatore...proprio oggi è stato sabbiato e domani di primissima mattina vado a fare un sopraluogo per vedere fondo e vernice.

Ciao a tutti, scopro con tantissimo piacere che i fans di RichRon sono in aumento....abbiamo passato il confine con Germania e Norvegia ma anche diversi Oceani grazie a Stati Uniti e Nuova Zelanda!!
Grazie a tutti per il supporto morale, non vi leggo e non vi vedo ma so che ci siete ahahaha!
_Aggiornamento: domenica mattina fra le altre cose mi sono deciso a cercare il numero di telaio, un dettaglio non trascurabile direi, pensando ai danni che potrebbe creare la sabbiatura.....eccolo qui in tutto il suo splendore.
Fine settimana si va dal sabbiatore...alla prossima!

Hello everyone, I discover with much pleasure that fans of RichRon are rising .... we crossed the border with Germany and Norway, but also several oceans thanks to the United States and New Zealand!

Update: sunday morning I decided to look for the chassis number, an important detail, thinking about the damage that could create from blasting ..... here it is in all its glory.

Compiti per casa

Qualche lavoretto è stato fatto dall'ultimo aggiornamento, 2 grosse levataccie (5.45am) per rimediare 2 ore di lavoro pre-lavoro vero, una domenica mattina saltata a causa di una piacevole visita alla mostra-scambio.....chiusura delle aperture sui punti per proteggere dalla sabbiatura, pulizia di alcuni particolari che non porterò a sabbiare ai quali darò fondo e vernice da me.
Ho trovato un lucidatore che darà alle "nocciole dello sterzo" la lucidatura che meritano.
Speravo questa settimana di portare telaio e ponti al sabbiatore ma niente da fare.

Some work has been done since the last update, up early in the morning (5.45am) to create 2 hours before my real job, missed a Sunday morning due to a pleasant visit to the trade-show ..... closing the openings points to protect axles from sanding, cleaning some details that do not bring to sandblast and I'll do primer and paint by myself.
I found a polisher who will give to "nuts steering" the right polish.
I was hoping this week to bring the frame and axles to the sandblaster but nothing to do.

 

Tornando al titolo, ecco una nuova componente di un programma di restauro....scovare nella giungla dei codici di ricambio quello che fa per te.....dal punto di vista di un restauratore di trattori anni 40 potrei essere fortunato (vero Davide?) considerando che si deve ricreare anche l'ultimo dei bulloni, ma porca miseria ci si perde la vista e forse anche la testa.....e quella di seguito e solo una piccola parte riguardante ponti i freni!

 

Returning to the title, here is a new component of a restoration programm .... in the jungle codes spare I need to find the right one for me ..... for a 1940 tractor's restorer I might be lucky (right David?) because it is necessary to recreate every bolts, but it's crazy..... and in the picture below, you can see only a small part codes for brakes and axles!

 



Axles smontati

Mercoledì sera ho ritirato i ponti completamente smontati e svuotati di tutto dal meccanico....il fido Disco è ancora dopo 4 giorni avvolto in una fragranza di olio misto ruggine annata 1971.

Wednesday night I took the axles completely disassembled and emptied everything from the mechanic .... Disco is still after 4 days wrapped in a fragrance oil mixed vintage rust 1971.

Differenziali e mozzi in perfetto stato di conservazione, a riconferma del basso Kilometraggio della Regina.....freni a disco, pastiglie, paraoli e guarnizioni da sostituire e fortunatamente il costo dai vari siti Uk è molto basso.

 

Differentials and shafts in perfect condition, confirming the low mileage of the Queen....brake disc, brake pads, oil seals and gaskets to replace and fortunately their cost from various UK sites is very low.

 

 

Domani mattina sveglia ore 6.00 ed armato di nastro americano e tanti quotidiani inizierò la preparazione per la sabbiatura, avvolgendo le parti a rischio e smontando gli ultimi pezzi rimasti.

 

 

Ready for axel's check-up

Eccoci qua e ben ritrovati....un veloce aggiornamento dopo le festività.
Dallo scorso post poco è andato avanti ed in concertazione con un amico restauratore professionista di moto e trattori, ho deciso di sottoporre i due ponti alle cure di un meccanico riminese esperto di fuoristrada che dovrà smontare i freni e controllare i differenziali.
Per questo li ho preparati togliendo molle, ammortizzatori ed albero.

Here we are and welcome back .... a quick update after the holidays.
Since last post just went ahead and in consultation with a professional restorer friend of motorcycles and tractors, I decided to put the two axles in the care of a mechanical in Rimini, who is an expert terrain that will have to disassemble the brakes and check the differentials.
I have prepared for this by removing springs, dampers and shaft.

Prossimo aggiornamento: ritiro ponti smontati e consegna al sabbiatore insieme al telaio ed altri componenti.

La guerra contro i bulloni arrugginiti si è definitivamente conclusa ieri Domenica 15 Dicembre....ecco quello che rimane del povero/fortunato  RichRon.
Ora ci penserà la sabbiatura a dare il colpo di grazia.

The war against the rusty bolts has finally ended last Sunday, December 15th .... here is what remains of the poor / lucky RichRon.
